Kyiv Kendo Federation Mini-Tournament in Honor of Pokrova and Defender’s Day

On October 14th, 2024, in celebration of the Pokrova holiday and Defender’s Day, the Kyiv Kendo Federation held an internal mini-tournament.

This traditional event provided another opportunity for our members to test their skills, gain new experiences, and feel the competitive spirit in a friendly atmosphere.

Participants demonstrated fighting spirit and skill, competing in various categories. The tournament featured not only exciting matches but also gave each participant a chance to showcase their determination and dedication to Kendo.

The competition was held in both individual and team formats.

In the individual category, participants first competed in four pools, with the top two in each pool advancing to the playoffs to determine the finalists.

Individual Results:

•🥇 1st place: Ihor Kamenchuk

•🥈 2nd place: Veronique Limanska

•🥉 3rd place: Yaroslav Verbytsky

The team competition was equally intense, with Team KKF D emerging victorious, consisting of:

•Yevtushevska Yevheniia (Senpo)

•Tymur Bilykh (Chuken)

•Denys Deineha (Taisho)

Spirit Awards were given to Yurii Danilenko, Oleksii Bazanov, and Denys Deineha, who were recognized by the judges for their dedication, spirit, and skill during the matches.

This mini-tournament not only highlighted the significance of martial traditions in our culture but was also dedicated to those who defend our country and to all who strive for harmony between body and mind through the practice of Kendo.

We thank all participants for their contributions to the development of Kendo and look forward to seeing you at our regular training sessions.
We invite everyone interested to join our training sessions and continue the path of self-improvement and spiritual growth together.
